Privacy Policy

This policy covers the RodPod iOS app and the rodpod.app website, both operated by Indeply. Your fishing data, including recordings, saved trips, movement charts and rod alerts, is processed and stored on your iPhone. Subscription information is different: if you buy RodPod Pro, Apple processes the payment and RevenueCat receives anonymous purchase details so the app can verify and restore your subscription. The sections below are the same text shown on the app's Privacy screen.

Your recordings

RodPod processes AirPods motion on your iPhone to save outings, estimated casts, cast intensity, movement charts and experimental technique suggestions. RodPod has no account system, advertising, tracking SDKs or automatic upload of your recordings. It does not access your location, contacts, photos or Health data.

Subscriptions

Apple processes payments. RodPod uses RevenueCat to verify purchases, restore subscriptions and enable Pro. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier and purchase history, including product, transaction, subscription status, price and currency information, for subscription functionality and purchase analytics. We do not send your rod motion, saved trips, voice memos or reference labels to RevenueCat. RodPod does not collect your payment card details, create a personal account or use advertising identifiers.

Microphone and speech

RodPod keeps the microphone active during rod setup tests, fishing sessions and rod alerts to support the AirPods connection and background monitoring, including with your phone locked. iOS displays its microphone indicator. During normal fishing and rod alerts, audio buffers are immediately discarded: audio is not saved, transcribed or uploaded. Access ends when monitoring or recording stops. Optional developer field tools can transcribe spoken reference labels on device when you explicitly enable them. If on-device recognition is unavailable, spoken labels are unavailable. You can separately attach a voice memo using the file picker; that file is copied into the selected field session.

Intelligent highlights

If you enable Intelligent Highlights on a supported device, Apple's on-device model selects from measured trip facts. RodPod sends neither raw sensor samples nor voice memos to the model. RodPod does not use a cloud model. Apple may need to download system models before on-device features are available.

Storage and deletion

Normal fishing sessions temporarily save full sensor traces. After processing, RodPod verifies the compact trip results before removing those temporary traces. Developer field sessions, imported files and older recordings retain their full data. If processing fails, raw data is retained for recovery. Delete saved trips in Settings → Manage storage. Preferences and local diagnostic logs are also stored in the app. Removing RodPod removes its local app data; exported copies and device backups are managed separately.

Sharing and backups

RodPod shares a session or diagnostic file only when you use the system share or export controls. Your chosen destination controls any exported copy. Field exports can include voice memos and spoken reference labels. Local diagnostic logs can include your AirPods name, connection details and transcribed speech when developer voice tools are enabled; inspect a file before sharing it. App data may be included in your iPhone's iCloud or computer backup according to your device settings. Apple and any destination you choose have their own privacy policies.

Rod alerts

Movement alerts use AirPods motion, not microphone audio, to detect movement. They are experimental and do not confirm bites. Recent alerts and a small live chart stay in memory until a new monitoring session or app restart; no raw motion file is saved by alert mode. Notification permission enables phone banners and connection warnings. Sound follows your current audio output. Interruptions, lost connections, Focus settings or system suspension can prevent timely alerts.

This website

rodpod.app is a static site. It sets no cookies and stores no identifiers in your browser. We use PostHog to count visits and see which pages are read and which links are used: visitors are counted with a short-lived, non-reversible hash that resets every day, and your IP address is not stored. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes connection data such as your IP address to serve the pages and protect against abuse, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Your rights

Your fishing data stays on your iPhone, so you control it directly: view trips in the app, export them with the share sheet, and delete them from an outing's trash button, by holding a card in Trips, in Settings → Manage storage, or by removing the app. Subscription information is held by Apple and RevenueCat under their own policies: manage or cancel the subscription in your App Store subscription settings, and contact us if you want the anonymous purchase record held by RevenueCat erased. If you email us, we keep that correspondence only as long as needed to help you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct or erase personal data; contact us and we will honor those requests regardless of where you live.

Children

RodPod is not directed at children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your country, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we make material changes we will update this page and the date above, and the in-app Privacy screen will show the same text.
